Fort Lauderdale Reef Dive Photos

After each deep wreck dive, we did a twenty to thirty
foot reef dive. Here are some typical photos of the
reefs off shore of Fort Lauderdale.

These photos are taken at the Hog Heaven wreck.
It is about 70 feet down. The visibility was
about 30 feet and water temperature was 85 degrees.
Nice dive.

Another Atlantic City Beach Video

Guess you can tell my parents liked to vacation in
Atlantic City.

Snow Day

Here we are sled riding on a winter day. Frankly, a poor
quality video as the contrast between us and the white
snow gave me real problems with the digitzing. Here it
is anyway.

On the way home from Atlantic City, we stopped in Maryland

My first attempt at digitizing our 8mm home movie collection. When you see them they are priceless memories. This must have been from 1965 as I broke my right arm in the fourth grade. Then I broke my left arm in the fourth grade, but that is another story.

Last October, I bought this new Equinox ProPak 6 Housing as my homemade housing began to leak. As this is bigger, I needed a carrying case for it. I really wanted a Pelican or Storm Hard Case, and price was not the problem, but size was. Due to the measurement, the only cases that would fit are twice as big as I need. They are carry-on luggage size. Way too big to take on vacation trips. So, I decided to make my own padded case.
I got this Stanley Hard Base All Purpose Bag at Target.
Another view
I got four of these foam sheets at Joanne Fabric
I measured and cut the bottom piece
Here is the end piece. Notice, I slit the foam and
packed it into the tool holder pockets
Do the same for the sides
Packing the foam in the sides can get tricky,
but it works to hold the foam in place

Housing in pads
Pad for the top

I don't want to glue the padding in as it will get wet and I can buy other foam sheets and replace them as the need be. It is a very light case to carry around. I just wanted some protection for the housing when I am carrying equipment to dive sites, packing it in my checked luggage, or on a dive boat.

I have been doing a special project for Kent State University Transition Center. I have worked with six Special Education Students at Hudson High School and training them in the basics of job hunting. They all interview well, have JIST cards, resumes, and know how to fill out applications. Here are pictures of the Hudson High School Special Education Independent Living Lab Center. It is designed to look like an apartment so they can train them in independent living skills.
